This apartment is located in Long Beach, a neighborhood in Oak Island. Oak Island Golf Club and Founders Club at St. James Plantation are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Kure Beach and Carolina Beach. North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and Bald Head Island Information Center are also worth visiting.

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Carolina Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain discounts for local tours and attractions.

You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your invoice.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

During your stay:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!

  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
