Strategies to get the best vacation property experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Oak Island. Booking in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, management companies supply Carolina Beach area travel guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting and booking a perfect Carolina Beach rental home:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Anchors Down: Oceanfront condo, located in the complex Southern Shore Villas, wi has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Carolina Beach beach you are enamored with, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
