Strategies for getting the perfect Carolina Beach rental home experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Carolina Beach area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • To start, have your group decide on a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. One Bedroom, One Bathroom Condo on the Oceanside has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your family.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

More considerations:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
