Strategies to get the perfect Carolina Beach rental experience:

When to book a Carolina Beach rental home & When to go:

  • Book your Carolina Beach rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Quiet Historic Retreat - 15 minutes from Riverwalk has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
