Our top Rental home tips and tricks:

How to get the best value:

  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • First and foremost, have your group select trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Reefs IV 1D - Oceanfront Condo in Carolina Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before booking the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Tips for a great stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
