Strategies to get the best Carolina Beach vacation home experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Summer is high season in the Carolina Beach area. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Carolina Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Ocean Front 2 Bedroom in Sea Colony has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If not, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
