Things To Do:

Adventure awaits. Discover aquatic wildlife and vegetation at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher or appreciate a calming ferry ride across the Cape Fear River to a cozy little shopping town called Southport. Take a trip back in time at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site and Museum which features live oak covered trails and bunkers from the American Civil War. Stroll through the marsh to visit the home of the famed Ft. Fisher Hermit. Or wind down with nature at our two state parks, sure to provide a memorable experience with hiking, fishing, and water activities such as paddle boarding and kayaking and search for a Venus Flytrap which is native to NC only. As one of North Carolina's most undeveloped beaches, the island offers a unique opportunity to see many diverse coastal wildlife, including pelicans and loggerhead sea turtles, in their natural habitat. Whether it’s exploring activities on the island, appreciating the ocean vistas, or enjoying a beverage by sunset from your own private balcony, Pleasure Island offers diversion for every enthusiast!

Explore the treasures of Carolina Beach, ranked one of the top 10 boardwalks in the country by Food & Wine magazine. One of the last remaining beach boardwalks on the East Coast, it includes a variety of eateries, arcade, stores, ice cream, Famous Britts Donuts, bars, and more! During the summer months, the Boardwalk is bustling with the sound of music, carnival rides, bingo, family nights, and events like the weekly fireworks and concert series. Rent a Jeep, bicycle, or golf cart as the most convenient ways to navigate the island. Annual off- season events include the Cape Fear Kite Festival, Christmas by the Sea, and the Island of Lights Festival.

We look forward to you visiting us!

Finding the best Carolina Beach vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Carolina Beach area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • To find the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, management companies supply Carolina Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Choose your dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Starfish Shack New Design Build Family Home has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Carolina Beach rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
