This six-bedroom home on the dunes is made for indulgent visiting for you and the entire family or for a enormous group of friends. As you enter, Big Fish steals your breath away with awe-inspiring vistas of the Atlantic Ocean. A variety of gathering spaces-including a great room, two media rooms, an office, the pool table room and numerous reading nooks-provide places for family and friends to reconnect or havens to grab a peaceful nap.

The gourmet kitchen, equipped with high-end appliances, overlooks the pool and has every amenities you could possibly need to create edible works of art. Multiple areas for prepping allow your culinary adventures to include numerous chefs. Once you have skillfully created your feast, appreciate it in one of the four dining areas-the dining room comfortably seats ten guests or you can choose to eat at the table in the pool area, at the table in the screened porch overlooking the pool or at the table on the patio overlooking the ocean.

The sizable swimming pool's roomy platform affords fantastic ocean vistas and great sunbathing opportunities. The upper deck also offers lounge chairs to bake your blues away. For a little shade, there is not only a screened porch but also a covered deck and a covered patio-all with ample seating. Want something a little sandier? Take a short walk right across the way to the beach access leading out to the warm sands and inviting waters of the Atlantic!

For after-dinner entertainment, there is a wet bar and gorgeous scenes of the ocean and nighttime sky. Your group can watch a movie or play one of many supplied games-including pool, Foosball, backgammon and more.

A Queen suite with full bath is located on the first floor-just off of the swimming pool-and is ideal for anyone who does not wish to navigate many steps. Five additional bedrooms are located on the upper floor, including two adjoining bedrooms with two Twins apiece. There are also two King suites, each with their own private sitting room and en suite bath.

The Grandiose Owner is this home's piece de resistance-its King bed, private sitting area and bathroom all overlook the ocean! This suite also offers direct deck access, an oversize walk-in closet, a double-entry tiled shower, his/hers sinks and a deep Jacuzzi tub.

Big Fish comes with internet and refreshed golf carts-a six-passenger and two four-passenger.

Booking the best vacation rental experience:

Getting the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Carolina Beach area. To get the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Carolina Beach area visitors guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose vacation week and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Big Fish is a luxury Dune Ridge home! 6BR, Private Pool, Luxe Kitchen & More! has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is best for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches. See for yourself by scanning the QR code and call Victory Beach Vacations at 910.458.0868 to book your Cape Fear getaway. Start making your memories today! —Grace Silipigni
