Rental booking tips:

Finding the best value:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the best value, try changing your family's Carolina Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Carolina Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Carolina Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the best rental in the Carolina Beach area:

  • Begin by choosing trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Good Vibes Carolina Beach by RedAwning has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or could be applied to your contract.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

During your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
