"Cast-a-Waves" located in the "Sand Pebbles" condo complex suite A19 is a 2nd story condo managed by Dale and Salt Water Real Estate and may be just the home away from home you are looking for! "Sandy Pebbles" is a two-bedroom comfortable condo that's just steps away from our sandy shores and all the sea sights, sounds, and experiences you are looking for!

The space

Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing vacation (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. Because we are in fact a true island, our "max. capacity" and restricted parking options will always limit the number of visitors who can both rent on and visit our Island simultaneously! Although always relative, this provides a bit more elbow room and open space than average for those looking for more “distancing” and privacy than some bigger public beaches. It’s a family-aligned beach with a touch of everything one might be looking for! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!

The suite is in the heart of Carolina Beach and moderate walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, eateries, and local stores of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or event boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Bring the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island. You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier compete with bait, tackles, and more! The Carolina Beach Lake is close by, hosting a weekly Farmer’s Market every Saturday, FIREWORKS every Thursday, and outdoor summer movies on Sunday’s (on a enormous inflatable screen in the middle of the lake!). We welcome you to sit back, relax and appreciate yourselves because that's exactly what the beach is for!

The entry to this 2 bedroom and 2 bath suite opens up into a sizable, furnished family room combined with an open dining area and entirely equipped kitchen (stove oven, refrigerator). The kitchen is supplied will all the basic cooking and dining silverware one can expect (plates, bowls, cups, silverware, etc.). In addition, there is a microwave, toaster, coffer maker and blender ready to help make yourself at home (while on Vacay!). Courtesy organic soap and shampoo are left in the bathroom of each suite as well as a (1) starter roll of TP, a (1) garbage bag, dish soap, and a sponge in each kitchen.

The unit's ONE (1) QUEEN, TWO (2) TWIN bed's and ONE (1) FULL pullout consists of either a plush luxury bed or a new encased 8” memory foam/cooling gel composition bed because we want all of our guests to be cozy when it comes time to recharge.

There is a TV (with approx. 25 channels through the Charter Spectrum cable) along with a WIFI computer connection for when it's time to sit back and savor some movies or shows after a long day at the beach! Bring a Fire Stick, Apple TV, Laptop w/ HDMI cable or other such casting device if looking to ensure all of the tech amenities from home are available during your stay!

We equip each suite with its own combination of books, games, and misc. accessories to help cover the basis for our guests to enjoy themselves in rain or shine.

The outdoor shower is located near the pool area to help get that sand off of those toes!

Guest access

The SUITE: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE (never shared) along with a respective balcony. The outdoor spaces from pool, shower, and grounds are all communal.

PARKING: Each guest will have access to (2) TWO unassigned parking spaces. Be definitely sure your pass in onsite at check in and to always display the pass in your car. If taken from the suite, a $200 lost/stolen pass charge will be assessed per pass. Any additional community parking spaces would have availability on a first come fist serve basis.

Neighborhood description

Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island. The building itself is roughly one hundred feed from the complexes private access. The property is a long walk or short drive from downtown Carolina Beach with its stores, activities and dining and is equidistant to the smaller, but just as impressive Downtown Kure Beach with its fishing pier and aquarium. There are fireworks during the summer every Thursday nighttime, movies at the lake each Sunday nighttime, and local fairs around the lake each Saturday morning.

Carolina Beach is a mix of friendly locals, snowbirds, and visitors all looking to escape the inland and enjoy the sand, surf, and sun. We really have an extraordinary community! Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more calming and less “adventure” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!

Getting around

There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has multiple vendors such as Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 308 S Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach, NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks, chairs, and umbrellas) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. There's Sun Fun Units @1204 N Lake Park Blvd Unit F Carolina Beach, NC 28428. Taxi’s (local golf cart taxi’s) and Uber’s are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island! You can catch a Ferry to Southport in Kure Beach @ 2422 Fort Fisher Blvd S Kure Beach which leads to another ferry to Bald Head Island where NO CARS are allowed at all!

After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!

GOLF CARTS

•To the county, golf carts are considered automobiles. Generally speaking, golf carts are NOT allowed on premises of ANY condo, condotel, or apartment. The same goes for trailers, motorbikes, etc. For SFR’s or properties supporting multiple cars, carts should be OK. However, be conscious that few homes have external outlets WITHOUT GFCI’S (which are code by today’s standards). Charging a cart on a GFCI will immediately trip the breaker, resulting in the inability to charge a cart amongst other repercussions. Gas carts will generally be the ideal rental option if in a home whose parking supports such.

•ALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways.

• SWRE contractual peaceful hours begin at 9:00pm EST. Town ordinance may allow more latitude with regards to noise (11:00pm) but our expectations are to help ensure all guests, locals, and neighbors alike have an delightful experience.

•NO BBQing on ANY decks or porches. This is a giant fire hazard and is fineable by the town (as is removing batteries from any smoke or co2 alarms).

The area's natural beauty can be seen at Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, while Carolina Beach Boardwalk and North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher are popular area attractions. Tricks and tips for getting the best Carolina Beach vacation rental experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • Summertime is high season in Carolina Beach. Reserve your rental in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Selecting and booking the rightrental home:

  • First and foremost, have your family select a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. \"Cast-a-Waves\" condo with partial ocean views! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation group.
  • If there's a particular Carolina Beach destination you are crazy about, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your contract.

Advice for a great stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
