What better way to appreciate Bald Head Island by staying at "Shifting Sands" right on South beach front. This five bedroom home has plenty of space to accommodate the ideal family vacation. Savor the many deck spaces of the home while listening to the waves right outside the home with your drink of choice. The downstairs has a bunk room right off of the kitchen space ideal for the kiddos with its own full bathroom. Downstairs also has a King master suite with attached bathroom. Upstairs you will find a room with two queen size beds and another master king suite. It doesn't stop there! We have a separate crofter that has a queen bed ideal for additional privacy. Explore the island of Bald Head with the 2 golf carts that are available for use (1- 4 pass & 1- 6 pass) and discover the BHI club or shoals club for separate purchase.

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Bald Head Island. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Carolina Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Carolina Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.

  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
